Hey, I’m Rachael Lee Mohr, author of Deadly Reflection and Auction Girls. I live in Georgia with my husband, Rich, our dog, Yeti, and our two sons nearby. When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me running, walking, teaching workout or yoga classes, working in the yard, cooking, or taking the dog for a ride in our Jeep. We also enjoy spending time on the lake, gathering in the kitchen, and finding little moments of calm throughout the day.

Behind the scenes of finding the right cover art for book 1.

I hired a company to help with cover art. They were not who they claimed to be. We went back and forth alot. They stopped working on the cover and started to edit. Grammar and spelling only. Not what I asked for. During all of this back and forth they also tried selling me marketing packages, press release packages and website packages. I was like, “can we please complete the original task?

Eventually I had to cut ties. This left me lost and discouraged. I got Chat GPT to help with the cover art. This proved to be very difficult as it was one of the early versions. Finally after going back and forth a million times, The cover was completed. Different than I originally envisioned but it gave off the feeling I was looking for.

So, if you are going through this, hang in there and stand your ground. Compromise in areas you can and stick to your guns on non-negotiables!

Podcaster since 2019- I recorded 4 episodes then Covid hit and I stopped, then rebranded in 2024- Yoga and Other $h!t with my friends Elizabeth and Rachel! We’ve recorded over 30+episodes! Once we started season 2, everyone got busy with other parts of life so we are on a ‘pause’. New Podcast Under the Influence is better aligned for all of my integrated jobs and hobbies. This ‘book 1’, that I wrote, started in 2006. I wrote it in a notebook just the basics. 2007 typed it up and put it on a cd “disc” . 2020 transferred to cloud. 2024 was editing and publishing which landed a March 2025 release! Now onto ‘book 2’…
